The two ScreenSkills Select Congress that have taken place in March 2021 and 2022 have been a huge success with award-winning experts from the screen industries sharing the latest industry intelligence with more than 200 educators.
You are still able to view the details for Congress’22 - Re-writing the rules: talent and global content. The programme is also still available to view.
There will be another Congress in 2023 and attendance is free for educators on endorsed courses. Places will be available for educators on non-endorsed courses (albeit there is a charge).

We run online industry insight sessions for ScreenSkills Select students and course leaders to engage and network with industry professionals. These popular sessions present a deeper insight into a variety of in-demand screen industry job roles, and practical advice on pathways into these professions.

Industry insights sessions will take place in 2022.
We run a series of online employability training sessions for ScreenSkills Select students which give information from professionals on getting in, and on, in the industry.
Select Sessions provide professional advice on a range of topics, all focused on supporting students to gain the best opportunity to start a successful career in the screen industries.
These sessions provide professional advice on:
- Becoming a runner
- Starting out in the games industry
- Getting into Virtual Production
- Getting into film and TV
- First steps into script writing
- Creating a standout animation showreel
- Industry networking
- Navigating social media and games
- Meeting talent managers
- Understanding entry level roles
The sessions are divided into the different screen industries’ fields, so students receive tailored and relevant information for their specific course.
ScreenSkills has a series of e-learning modules on Getting Into the Screen Industries which are a prerequisite for attending any Select Session events.
Further Education colleges benefit from special hands-on Set Ready events.

These online training courses are for educators, designed to provide deeper insight into the principles of good teaching when delivering remote, face-to-face or blended sessions for learners.
These sessions will share additional approaches designed to support educators in leading impactful online and face to face training sessions that better respond to learners’ needs.
Educators are supported to:
- Identify factors that enable successful remote learning experiences in further and higher education
- Plan approaches to reduce barriers to remote learning
- Adapt activities and resources to engage and develop aspiring screen industry professionals
- Design opportunities for educators and learners to assess progress towards goals
- Develop online facilitation skills for using video conferencing for professional practice
