Open letter to MEPs regarding EP resolution on food security

In view of the current discussions in the Parliament on the impact of the war in Ukraine on food security, IFOAM Organics Europe sent an official letter to MEPs, to argue that this crisis forces us to re-think our food production system, in order to make it more independent from external inputs, less input intensive and more resilient.

These are precisely the objectives of the Farm to Fork strategy, which remains more than ever the relevant policy direction to adapt our farming system. Practical agronomic solutions already exist that can help us achieve these goals, while ensuring food security for all Europeans and beyond, and profitability for farmers.
